Didn't do enough 4m races to have an opinion. I really enjoyed the Youghal 5k and the St Luke's 5k that finished near Blackrock castle.

I love the 5k in Gortroe down near Youghal. It's a great community effort, nice route, lovely atmosphere and it's in aid of the local school.

4 mile has got to be Carriganimmy and 5K Rosscarbery both have great atmospheres and wonderful feeds afterwards. Carriganimmy has a Medal awarded to each finisher whilst supporting the wonderful charity of raising funds for their 2 local hospitals, namely Macroom and Millstreet. Meanwhile the Steam Runners in Rosscarbery are likewise fabulous

The fact that Carriganimmy awards a Medal to each person who completes their 4 Mile Race is one of only a few in County Cork is truly worth considering for other Race Events to award too as Medals are Very Important

Stryker 4M race, great atmosphere and tough but fast course. And its always good to know that entry fee is donated to a good cause like CUH Childrens Ward each year

2 x BHAA 5k on the marina for the weather! One in balmy 20 degrees at 8pm and the other in monsoon-like rain while the sun was shining with a phenomenal double rainbow at the end. Loveliest finish ever and total dedication of volunteers to stand in the pouring rain.

Bweeng 5k is a fantastic race getting better every year and the Glanmire 4 mile race was really challenging course, with the results printed out in minutes and prize giving done and dusted before everyone got cold and bored!

Brian Ahern here from Bweeng Trail Blazers. Value for money is key. A 5k race really should not be more than 10euro. I have seen some climb up and offer very little in return. Our race gives a lot back for 10euro but id be biased to nominate my own race so im going to say the weekly parkrun. Its free and timed and great info provided.

As for 4mile races i dont have a lot of experience of attending these but have heard great things about Ballintotis race.

Killeagh 4 mile was an outstanding event for a first time effort. Kilcredan 5k is a superb event. Both races have honest courses. Good range of prizes and fantastic spreads after. Hugh amount of parking on offer and plenty of stewarding. A lot of the 4 mile and 5ks are worthy of praise but last year these 2 stood just above the rest.

I love the 5k in Rosscarbery. It's a great community effort, nice route, lovely atmosphere and it's in aid of a different local charity every year.

5k for me is the BHAA at the Marina. The fastest in Cork by a country mile. And with the BHAA, although there are no frills, you're as good as guaranteed that it will run like clockwork. Best value 5k in my opinion.
For a fast and scenic 4 miler, the Ballymore Cobh A.C. 4 Mile can't be topped, plus the quality of home-baked sweet treats just can't be topped... although I am biased, as a Ballymore Cobh member, so, akin to Eurovision voting, I'll opt for another.
My 10 points go to the Corkbeg 4 Miler out near Aghada, East Cork. An intriguing uphill start is very much tempered by lovely countryside and some serious downhill running near the flat finish.
