Wibblies raise over €6000 for new Community Defibrillator

The Wibblly Wobbly Wonders were out in force on Good Friday the 25th of March to support four of their members who were running a marathon to raise funds for a new defibrillator for the Ballyvolane area.

The route was a circuit around the local Dunnes Stores in Ballyvolane...a loop of approx 840 metres.

Around....and around....and around.....and around....52 times in fact!

Supported by their fellow Wibblies, the four...Patrick Murphy, John Murphy, Billy Murray & Paul O Mahony completed the full marathon distance of 26.2 miles in 4 hours 17 minutes.

With donations from members of the public and from local businesses, a total of €6,361.58 was raised. This money will now be used to purchase a new defibrillator which will be be kept in Dunnes Stores, Ballyvolane and be available for the whole community to use.

Well done the Wibblies!  W W W
