Iolanda Balas of Romania is considered by many to one of the greatest high jump athletes of all time. She won Olympic Gold in Rome in 1960 and in Tokyo in 1964 and improved the world record for the high jump no fewer than 14 times, from 1.75m to 1.91m. She was also the first women to ever clear 6 feet.
The video clip shows her in action with a scissors technique. This is in marked contrast to the Fosbury Flop which nearly all modern high jumpers use.
