Update on flooding on some popular running routes in Cork City.

With all of the recent rain, some of the more popular running routes in Cork City are now flooded. The photo above shows the northern end of the pedestrian bridge over the South Ring Road near Mahon Point. The area to the side of the walkway is now full of water and there are some large pools spilling on the path as a result.

This one shows the Atlantic Pond near Pairc Ui Chaoimh which is now well above its usual level. The one below shows the Centre Park Road near the Marina where the footpath and road is under water.

In short, there is a lot of surface water and it looks as if it might take some time to clear. With more rain forecast, it doesn't look likely that it will clear up soon.

If you're looking to avoid the pools then stick to the footpaths or try the walkway between Rochestown and Passage West which is perfectly dry.

The full extent of the flooding can be seen in these photos HERE
