Photos of the Delanys GAA 5k fun run/walk...Sun 8th Nov 2015

This 5k fun run was organised by Delanys GAA club on the North side of Cork City in association with the Wibbly Wobbly Wonders Running Club on Sunday the 8th of November 2015.

I'm not sure if they were any results for this event but there are some photos courtesy of Kieran Minihane.

You can see them HERE

Many runners don't want their photos taken. About time it stops.

Once you go out in public, you've waved your right to privacy, anyone can take your picture once they are not harassing you

The reality is that the majority of runners don't object and like to see themselves and their friends. Why should it stop just because a very few object?

I'm sure all of the photographers will take down individual photos if they are asked.

most people like and dont mind their photo being taken. if you are self conscious about looking fat and woobly when running you are in the wrong game.

The first comment here is unusual in that the pictures of this race tell a great story, everyone looks really happy and looks like a great community event, well done to the organisers here I think.

That first comment is simply ridiculous. As the last poster said, if you're that conscious, you're in the wrong game.
Personally I like looking at all the photos taken at races, and I think the vast majority of runners feel the same, and are very appreciative of the regular race photographers like Doug and Kieran, who often brave awful weather conditions to take race pics for us. Thanks lads, for all the races you have attended and photos you have taken over the years.

I so agree with the first comment.

Kieran minihane here, of all the races I've taken pictures of only 3 pictures have I been asked to taken down, I will always take down a photo if someone isn't happy for whatever reason, but it's nice to be asked if I would take it down and not tell me I have to take it down, in my experience most runners like their photos taken and ask how long before they are up online, only today I got asked by another running club to cover their event and if I can I will. Don't forget this is done from a love of photography and the bunch of people who alot have become friends through the running, it costs me money to go to these Road races and time, I'm not complaining by any means but should they stop taking photos at matches? The world cup? Rugby, hurling, hockey, cross country etc? How about have newspapers without photos? It would a very boring world indeed, what I would say to anyone who dosent want one of my photos online is first well done for running and second email me.or phone me and I'll take your photo down no prob, I'm not a monster so a nice email goes alot further that a nasty one........ Rant over and happy running, kieran

Well said Kieran. Keep the photos coming. They're great. And thanks for the time you put into them. I, for one, greatly appreciate them.

While I am one to always look wobbly and red faced when running i do still love seeing photos, Kieran im sure would take down any photos people dont want up or if you told him on the day he wouldnt put them up,
its very easy to sit behind a computer and complain but if you it was that big an issue you would have addressed it an appropriate way.
Keep up the amazing work Kieran and all the other photographers!
