Carmel Parnell of Leevale AC leads Irish F55 team to team Gold


The British and Irish Masters Cross Country International was held in Wollaton Park in Nottingham on Saturday the 22nd of Nov 2014. One notable success of the day was that of the Irish womens F55 team that took Gold in that category. The Irish F55 team was led home by Carmel Parnell  of Leevale AC also won her fifth successive title in the F55 age group with a time of 23:26.

A special mention as well for Eamon McEvoy of St.Finbarr's AC who was part of the M60 team that finished second and Frank Hayes of East Cork AC who was part of the M45 team that finished 2nd.

Well done Carmel! You are an inspiration to runners of all ages and abilities. Has to be cork athlete of the month if not the year! Just goes to prove age is just a number ! Best of all is she is from cork.
