Launch of the Ballintotis 4 mile road race...

The Ballintotis 4 mile road race is one of the largest evening road races in Cork and always attracts a huge crowd. There was an official launch night for the race last Friday evening when organsiers, sponsors and members of Ballintotis Fit4Life came together at the local community hall.

The race is coming up on Wednesday the 16th of April 2014 at 8pm. More details in this earlier post.

Liam O'Brien from East Cork AC (the promoting club), James McCarthy winner of the race for the last 4 years, John Cashman, Brian Herlihy of Castlemartyr Resort sponsors of  the main prize for this year's race  which is one year free membership of Castlemartyr Resort Leisure Centre for both 1st Male and 1st Female. Sean Murphy and Jean O'Gorman of the race committee.

I ran this for the first time last year and it was the best 4 mile event, even with all that crowd, that I have done. Flat course essentially and a real chance of a PB if you get away well. Looking forward...
