From the organisers...St.Finbarr's AC...........The John Buckley St. Finbarr’s A.C. Cork Half Marathon takes place at 11am on Sunday 8th of September 2013. As per usual, race H.Q. will be the Blarney GAA Grounds off Castle Close Road. The Cork Half Marathon (not to be confused with the Cork City Half Marathon) follows a 13.1 mi. (21.1km) out-and-back course between Blarney and Lower Rathduff. The race also incorporates the Cork and Munster Half Marathon Championships – no separate registration required. To qualify for the Championship part of the race, you must be a registered member of an affiliated Athletics Ireland club. Other than that, this is an open road race suitable for almost all categories of runners – you don’t need to be a member of a running club.

You can enter online, enter by post or just turn up on the day. On-the-day entrants must fill out a slip with Name, Gender, Club, D.O.B, & Mobile details. Present the slip with the €25 entry fee at the desk and you’ll receive your race number and timing chip pre-packed. A large number of on-the-day entries is anticipated, so please allow ample time for parking, registration and warm-up.

Your participation is greatly appreciated and we will do everything possible to ensure that yours is both a pleasant and rewarding experience. Please note that the public roads will remain open to traffic during the race. Therefore, runners must run on the left hand side whilst exercising due care and caution. Also, participants are strongly advised not to use headphones during the race. In the event of an emergency, all stewards will be issued with an emergency contact number. We wish all of you the very best of luck on the day and look forward to seeing you back at the GAA Grounds for the usual post race refreshments, prize giving and banter.
