This was the 2nd race this year by the Cork BHAA over this 4 mile course in Little Island. The first one was the FMC race back in January which always attracts a big turnout. It is seen by many as the first race of the year and has almost become a tradition for many runners to attend it.
With the Janssen race, it was expected that the numbers would drop somewhat. The FMC race attracted 409 runners in January while this one attracted 349, only a drop of 60 and still an impressive figure.
