Looking ahead to the weekend of the 6th to 8th of June (2008)......

Now that the Marathon is over, there are no road races locally until Wednesday next week when the 5 mile race in Glanmire takes place (previewed here on Tues 10th). In the meantime, there are 2 road races down in Waterford and South Kilkenny if anyone wants to make the trip.
Rathgormack 5 mile race - Fri 6th June (7:30pm)
This race takes place in the small village of Rathgormack in North of Waterford county in the shadow of the Comeragh Mountains and is about 8 kms South West of Carrick-on-Suir. It is the first race in a series of 4 races called the 'Three Counties Challenge" which take place in this general area, which is the meeting point for Counties Waterford, Kilkenny and Tipperary. Entry is €8 and there is a special T-shirt for anyone completing 3 of the 4 races in the series.
Directions...From Dungarvan, take the Waterford road and turn left onto the R676 at Lemybrien for Carrick-on-Suir. As you go past the Comeragh Mountains on the left and before you reach Carrick-On-Suir, look for the turn off left, the R678 for Rathcormack and Clonmel.

Little South Run - 4 mile road race - Kilmacow, Kilkenny (1pm)
This 4 mile race takes place on Sunday afternoon in Kilmacow which is just to the North West of Waterford City. It is between the N9 Waterford to Kilkenny road and the N24 Waterford to Carrick-on-Suir road.
